Jonah is a teen adventure thriller centered around Brody, a high school senior, who since the death of his father, has fallen from his baseball hero status.
The film is narrated by his best friend, and aspiring filmmaker, Ash. Ash plans to document Brody’s rise back to stardom and also the budding relationship with Jamie who is a new girl at their school.
When they find a spirit named Jonah in Jamie’s home, they decide to investigate in order to see if a person by that name really lived in the house at one time. Things get intense when Jonah takes hold of Jamie and the group of high schoolers must fight to save her from demonic possession.
He got his start as an editor on shows for VH1 and TV Guide, and quickly moved on to producing and directing. He has gone on to direct many short films, television pilots, commercials and music videos.
Together, with long time collaborator Jordan Horowitz, they Produced and co-directed the feature documentary, “Angel of Nanjing." The film went on to win 14 awards around the world, including 7 best documentary and 3 humanitarian awards.
He is the Writer, Director, and Producer of the award-winning film "Painless," which had its World Premiere at the Cinequest Film & VR Festival where it won the New Vision award.
He also produced and co-directed “angel of Nanjing”.
He is a producer of over 20 feature films such as “Jaguar”, “Downside of Bliss”, “Ghost Goggles” “The Broken Ones” and “Monster & Me."
His films have been distributed in almost
30 countries around the world.
Jonah was the name of a spirit that director Frank Ferendo and his high school friends communicated with through a Ouija board.
The film is based on this experience and much of that story is script just as it happened.
"Jonah" is NOT a found footage film. Jonah is a documentary style narrative film, complete with music and montages.
Imagine if a YouTuber compiled his fast paced, highly stylized creatively edited videos into one long form documentary film.
Ash narrates this film from a final edit point, as in "check out what happened this past year."
